Biography
Barbara Drucker received her
M.F.A. from UCLA, where she is current a professor of Painting/Drawing
and Chair of the Department of Art. From 1996 to 2001 she was the
founder and directory of The Living Room, an alternative exhibition
space in Santa Monica, California. Her work has been exhibited
nationally and internationally at sites including the Massocchi Gallery,
Parma, Italy; the Academy of Fine Arts, Brescia, Italy; the
Kulturzentrum bei den Minoriten, Graz, Austria; Kennedy Gallery, Athens,
Greece; Bousianis Gallery, Athens, Greece; the Center for Book Arts, New
York; and Mount St. Mary's College, Los Angeles, California.
Drucker's work is included
in numerous public collections such as the Smithsonian Archives of
Contemporary Art, Washington, D.C.; the Sackner Collection of Concrete
Poetry and Artists' Books, Miami, Florida; the UCLA Special
Collections/Artists' Books collection; the Museum of Greek Folk Art,
Film Archives, Athens, Greece; and the Museum of Greek Popular
Instruments Center of Ethnomusicology, Athens, Greece. Drucker is
a recipient of the Howard Foundation Award for Contemporary Art, Brown
University, Providence, Rhodes Island.
