Elements of Style
The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy is a compendium of background information on philosophy and summaries of philosophical concepts. It is not fully fleshed out yet, but it promises to be an excellent resource.
The Banff Centre (Alberta, Canada) The
Banff Centre offers courses in editing, publishing, and the arts.
The Publishing Law Center To quote the site's own words: "The Publishing Law Center has legal articles that can help you create and negotiate publishing contracts as well as other helpful articles and links that can assist you in making your publishing business more profitable whether you are in book publishing, multimedia, magazine or newsletter publishing, or want help with copyright, trademark, subsidiary rights, electronic rights, licensing, other intellectual property issues, or contracts."
Authorlink! describes itself as " a
unique on-line information service for writers, editors, literary agents and publishers, which
showcases, markets and matches quality manuscripts to fit publishers' specific needs." In other
words, it is one of the few "agenting" sites on the Web for authors.
Books AtoZ An extensive site of publishing and
editing resources. Unfortunately, I have just discovered (2/2/97) that their Navigation bar
(without HTML text backup) and main e-mail links aren't working. So either you or I will have
to give them a "real world" phone call so that we can all keep in touch with them.
